Outdoor wood cockroach treatment — questions we're often asked

Wood cockroaches are larger (25–35mm), darker brown, and predominantly outdoor insects. German cockroaches are smaller (10–15mm), lighter brown, and almost exclusively found indoors near warmth and food sources. If you're unsure, describe what you're seeing when you get in touch and we'll help identify the species.
Yes — wood cockroaches can enter properties through gaps around doors, vents, pipes, and other entry points, particularly at night or after heavy rain. However, they do not establish indoor colonies in the way German cockroaches do.
For wood cockroaches, perimeter treatment is usually the primary approach. Where cockroaches are actively entering the property, treatment at the entry points may also be recommended.
Most residual perimeter treatments provide several weeks to months of protection. Effectiveness can be reduced by heavy rain on exposed surfaces. Annual or bi-annual treatment is common for properties with ongoing pressure.
