Treatment overview

How bed bug treatment works

Effective bed bug treatment requires targeting all life stages, including eggs, which are resistant to many standard contact insecticides. We use a combination of chemical treatments and heat application to achieve thorough elimination. Treatment scope depends on the level of infestation and number of rooms affected.

01
Inspection and scope
We assess the level of infestation, rooms affected, and confirm the treatment approach and any preparation required.
02
Preparation by client
You'll be advised on preparation steps before we arrive, bedding, clothing, and clutter management in affected rooms is important for effectiveness.
03
Chemical and heat treatment
Registered residual insecticide applied to all harborage points, mattress seams, bed frames, skirting, furniture joints, and crevices. Heat treatment applied where relevant.
04
Post-treatment guidance
We confirm re-entry timing, washing and handling instructions for bedding and clothing, and whether a follow-up visit is recommended.

What affects the price
  • Number of rooms affected
  • Level of infestation, light, moderate, or heavy
  • Treatment method, chemical, heat, or combination
  • Whether a follow-up visit is needed
  • Property type, residential, rental, or managed accommodation
Before treatment

Before we arrive

  • Vacate the property for a minimum of 3 hours from the time treatment is completed
  • Pick up toys and loose objects from under beds, under couches, in wardrobes, and adjoining floor areas
  • Strip and bag affected bedding and clothing for hot washing and drying, which supports the treatment
  • Cover or remove fish tanks and reptile enclosures and switch off their air supply
After treatment

What to expect afterwards

  • Do not vacuum for 7 to 10 days after treatment, as this removes the product
  • Leave bedding and furniture in place so bed bugs continue to contact the treated surfaces
  • Ventilate the property on return. A heat pump on dehumidify or a fan heater helps the treatment dry
  • Bed bug cases often need a follow-up visit, which we confirm on inspection
  • A 6-month warranty applies; contact us if activity continues beyond the expected period

Any more specific aftercare relevant to the property will be confirmed directly after treatment.

Yes, bed bugs can spread through the property over time, particularly via bedding and clothing. It's important not to move items from affected rooms during treatment.
We'll confirm specific re-entry times and precautions relevant to your household when booking. Products are registered and applied to harborage areas.
